Understanding the $10,000 My Safe Florida Home (MSFH) Program
The My Safe Florida Home program provides Florida homeowners with up to $10,000 in 2-to-1 matching grant funds to strengthen exterior apertures against hurricane-force winds. For every $1 you contribute toward qualified hurricane mitigation improvements, the State of Florida contributes $2 (up to the maximum grant limit of $10,000).

To qualify for grant disbursements, upgrades must comply strictly with the Florida Building Code High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) standards:
- Category 5 Hurricane Impact Windows: Opening protection tested under TAS 201 Large Missile Impact.
- 12ft Architectural Pivot & French Doors: Complete exterior aperture hardening.
- Secondary Water Barrier (SWR) for Roofs: Self-adhering modified bitumen underlayment beneath standing-seam metal or tile roofs.
- Roof-to-Wall Tie-Down Enhancements: Simpson Strong-Tie hurricane clips and anchor strapping.
